Everybody feels anxiety sometimes in response to stressful events or life challenges.  When anxiety becomes frequent or debilitating, it can make life hard to enjoy and interfere with your daily tasks and responsibilities. When this happens, you might be dealing with an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorders are common. One in five people in the US deal with an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety disorders can take many forms including panic attacks, worry, or extreme fear of something specific like a spider or needles.

Treating Anxiety

Some common anxiety disorders I treat are:

Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Panic Disorder

Specific Phobias

Anxiety symptoms often improve when therapy involves evidence-based treatments (EBTs). EBTs are therapy strategies that have been found to be effective in lots of studies across a large sample of people experiencing a condition. There are several EBTs that are helpful for anxiety disorders, such as:

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
